Dental Continuing Education Company, Sleep Group Solutions and Gergen’s Orthodontic Lab team up to bring the Pro Player Health Alliance back to Dallas Texas at the North Texas Automotive Museum.
The national, “Tackle Sleep Apnea” campaign began as an idea for a single event and escalated into a national campaign. Each event that takes place as part of the campaign, is structured to spread awareness of sleep apnea, the symptoms, health dangers and possible treatment options available. Dental continuing education company, Sleep Group Solutions and Gergens Orthodontic Lab team up to bring the Pro Player Health Alliance back to Dallas Texas on November 1, 2012 at the North Texas Automotive Museum.
“All of the events have a team of well- known experts and local dentists,” David Gergen, President of the Pro-Player Health Alliance (PPHA) and Gergens Orthodontic Lab said. “We carefully select only the best and most qualified people to take part in the events.” Each event is hosted by a local dentist and the PPHA, an organization dedicated to helping former NFL players, through providing testing and treatment options for those who suffer from sleep apnea. In addition, the PPHA is dedicated to integrating education and raising sleep apnea awareness, in a fun and memorable way.
“Each NFL legend involved has a personal experience with or to sleep apnea. The audience relates to the players, hopefully they will be inspired to go and seek treatment.” Rani Ben-David, President of Sleep Group Solutions, a dental sleep medicine company focusing on dental continuing education, and co-sponsor the the PPHA event says. As part of the event(s), former NFL legends join in to share experiences with sleep apnea and the importance of treatment. Following the event, the legends are also available for autograph and photo opportunities with their fans. Interviews with the press are available, upon request.
The goal of the campaign is to tackle every region throughout the nation, at least once, in efforts to spread sleep apnea awareness and save lives. The campaign is making its second stop in Dallas at the on Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. The event is free to the public. The museum is located at 677 W. Campbell Rd. NFL legends joining the event will be: Erik Dickerson, Isiah Robertson, Dave Krieg, Derek Kennard and Roy Green. Dr. Sugg, D.D.S., will be the local dentist that will be speaking at the event.
The campaign had its official launch in Dallas and has made stops in Minneapolis, Seattle and Tacoma. “We are back in Dallas because the first event was very successful and had a tremendous impact on a lot of people,” Gergen said. “The American Legion has also teamed up to be part of the campaign, helping to make each event, more successful than ever.” Other upcoming events will be taking place in Phoenix and Boston.
The American Legion is expected to have over 300 people in attendance, at the Dallas event. Pre-registration, is recommended. “We are very excited about this event. Our recent event in Tacoma was the biggest to date, this event is going to be even bigger,” Gergen said.
