My name is Dr. Alan Gerbholz and I am looking forward to the upcoming seminars by Gergens Orthodontic Lab. My journey into Sleep medicine has been very ‘troubling” at first. Sleep Medicine was something that I really wanted to get into and had a passion for. There were those out there who promised “quick and easy” and I bit into it. What I got was “slow and hard”. The transition from Dentistry to Sleep was not hard from a technical standpoint but it was from a practice management and practice marketing standpoint.
I have always known and believed that I can’t know everything and that success comes when you surround yourself with really great people who know the things that you don’t. I didn’t follow that principle the first time around and it went “slow and hard”. It was frustrating and it didn’t seem worth it.
Fortunately, David Gergen convinced me to stay with it and I did. As a result I am now surrounded by a lot of great people who collectively know a lot. I am reaping the rewards. I am now one of the top producing Sleep Dentists in the Denver area. I have gone from a few appliances/case each month to over 30 cases a month working 2 days and still growing. But…not on my own. I have all the right people around me and it all finally coming together. Here are some of the people that I have to thank and who have been around me to encourage, teach, dream and push. Dave Gergen and his Ortho/Sleep lab and staff, Randy Clare, Dr. Rod Willey ,Beam readers, Peter Chase, Practice Partners, area sleep labs, AASDM and ACSDD. I am sure there are others that I haven’t mentioned.
The Courses given by Gergens Orthodontic Lab ring these and many more together to bring the “working” knowledge of all these people together. One leaves with most of what you need to just “do it”. The support people fill in all the other gaps and make it flow..
I still have a lot to learn but I know where and how to learn it. I look forward to every day.
