The Pro-Player Health Alliance (PPHA) and Former NFL Legends, are visiting Copper Creek Elementary School to visit and share their stories about being Pro NFL Players and the importance of health and wellness. The players will be arriving at the school on December 19, 2012 and will be taking part in the assembly in the morning. David Gergen, President of the PPHA has a son, Jack, who attends the elementary school and was the one that made it all happen. Additionally, Barbara Westcott, Jack’s third grade teacher helped to facilitate the assembly with the Principal, Brian Fineberg and has been working on all of the arrangements for the assembly in the school’s amphitheatre.
“Thank you so much Mr. Gergen. The kids are so very excited about the Cardinals and NFL Greats coming to our school. Thank you so very much!” said Barbara Westcott.
The players that will be in attendance are Roy Green, Derek Kennard, Dave Krieg, and Mark Walcsak. These players are amongst a few who have been part of PPHA’s national “Tackle Sleep Apnea” campaign, which raises awareness of sleep apnea and the connection with cardiovascular disease. The organization holds events throughout the country that encourage screenings and tests to check for sleep apnea and cardiovascular disease.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the kids to meet some NFL Greats and bring more awareness to the community. It was a pleasure to set this up with the school to continue to encourage athleticism, health, and wellness with these NFL Greats. Thank you to the NFL players for all of your support and for coming out to my son’s school,” said Gergen.
The NFL players will be at Copper Creek Elementary School located at 7071 West Hillcrest Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85310 from 8:40 to 9:30am.
